- One (1) Second Place medal

There are no participation medals.
Additionally, first place winners in both sparring divisions will also receive one (1) Goldback.
Scoring
Scored Events
Judges will be given a handheld white board to write their scores. Judges will have the entire tenths available to them for scoring (ie: they can give scores such as 5.7, but not 7.62). The scores must be legible.
Breaking Ties (Scored Events)
This is for both forms and breaking.
Consider the following score sheet, where two competitors received the same total score.
| Judge 1 | Judge 2 | Judge 3 | Total | Won | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| John | 6.5 | 7.0 | 7.5 | 21.0 | ? |
| James | 7.0 | 7.5 | 6.5 | 21.0 | ? |
As you can see, each judge gave a different score to each competitor. In this case, the tie can be broken easily and without requiring additional time. Judges 1 and 2 each gave a heigher score to James, while only Judge 3 gave John the higher score. James would then be the winner of the tie. This is visually represented in the table below.
| Judge 1 | Judge 2 | Judge 3 | Total | Won | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| John | 6.5 | 7.0 | (x) 7.5 | 21.0 | No |
| James | (x) 7.0 | (x) 7.5 | 6.5 | 21.0 | Yes |
If one or more judge gave the competitors the same score, such as in the example below, then the tie would have to be broken by the competitors performing their routines again. If there are only two competitors, then judges will point to their competitor of choice to break the tie. If there are three or more competitors in the tie, then scores will be used.
| Judge 1 | Judge 2 | Judge 3 | Total | Won | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| John | 7.5 | 7.0 | 7.5 | 22.0 | ? |
| James | 7.0 | 7.5 | 7.5 | 22.0 | ? |
Breaking Ties (Sparring Events)
Traditional
If a match has concluded in a tie, then competitors will compete again in a traditional golden point round. The referees will determine who made first valid scoring contact.
Event Specific Rules
Breaking
- No head breaks for youth divisions.
- Competitors in ties that can't be broken must perform again with rebreakable boards.
Sparring Events
- Double Elimination
- 90s rounds
Divisions that utilize 2020 Armor vests for scoring will be refered to as Armored Divisions.
- Competitors are intermediate or higher rank
- Competitors are ages 7 and older
Divisions that DO NOT utilize 2020 Armor vests will be referred to as Traditional Divisions.
- All beginner competitors
- All competitors under the age of 7
2020 Armor will be used as the vests are available. If there are no vests available, than the division will proceed as a traditional division.
When face shields are worn by all competitors in a traditional division, face contact will be allowed and scored.
2020 Armor
Any area covered by the vest will be considered a valid scoring area.
Head contact is allowed, but not scored unless in a tie breaking round.
How To Score
The vests measure the compression and decompression of the foam. If an action (for example, a punch) causes the compression and decompression to be rapid enough, then the vest will register the action as a hit. This means that push techniques will not often register, and hits that are blocked can register.
Point Sparring
Vests will be in a mode that keeps track of the hits. It will not stop counting hits unless the match is paused or has ended. Head referee's will still seperate competitors after contact has been made.
