Capture The Flag Rules

The goal of capture the flag (CTF) is to have an event for new students experience the competive nature of sparring events, without. As such, the refereeing should be similar to point sparring.

  • Competitors will wear a belt with four (4) flags attached. The flags shall be placed on the front and rear of the competitors hips.
  • Competitors can not strike.
  • Competitors can not grab anything other than the flags.
  • Competitors can block or redirect their opponents hands, as long as they do not grab anything other than the flags.
  • The head ref will seperate the competitors when a flag has been taken (in the same manner as point sparring).
  • Match continues until time runs out or all flags have been taken from a competitor.
  • Winner is whoever has the most flags.
